ABOUT DESIPLAYERS

Desiplayers is a production company working to bring innovative and creative 
multicultural talents to Canadian audiences and to support ground-breaking work 
by budding artists. Their mandate is that art & culture knows no boundaries and 
should be provocative, challenging and stimulating to the mind.

The players are:

Murli (Ned)  is a strong believer in the merits of diversity and assimilation, having lived and worked in eight countries.  He is a motivational speaker, consultant - corporate presentations and joint ventures, Past President Toastmasters International, Vice-chair - FLMI Board of Directors, Writer of short stories and lyrics and an eternal optimist.  His interests include travelling, music and growing herbs.
Currently working for a leading multinational insurance and financial company

Alka trained in Indian classical music, has performed locally and overseas and has won numerous awards.   She has taught Indian classical music and been involved in several theatrical productions. Apart from music and theatre, her interests include fusion cooking (blend of east and west) with emphasis on taste as well as nutrition.
Currently she works for one of Canada’s leading Banks as a 'Small Business Adviser'.

Sohail thrives on perfection in his personal and professional life and is proud of his organizational skills.  Known for his constant energy and ready sense of humour, he has been praised for promoting multiculturalism at work.  Recipient of several awards in the travel industry, he was commended by the late Pierre Trudeau for his exceptional customer service.  His interests are music, analyzing people and situations.
Currently he works with an international airline at Toronto Pearson Airport.

Raheel is an award winning Journalist, Public speaker and Media consultant.  Her mandate is to “Bridge the Gulf” between East and West and to create peace and understanding in the world.  She loves people and believes “everyone has a story to tell”. Her interests are creative writing and travel. Her day job is with the Ontario Provincial Government.
